About the Authors

The Athele Series has two authors; Kaitlin Nichols and Michael Branch.

Occasionally, Kaitlin does crazy things - like swim with sharks and ride elephants.

Kaitlin is from Omaha, NE, and attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN.  She enjoys things such as running, dancing, writing, Patrick Stewart pontificating about the letter 'B', and going through a hair color change at least once a year.  She is occasionally eaten by the internet, but always finds her way back into the real world.  Sorta.

This suit is snazzy.

Michael is from Winona, MS, and graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.  He enjoys video games, anime, manga, DnD, and occasionally driving his wife to distraction.  He is often the one reaching out and putting Kaitlin back in the real world after her little excursions, or pushing her head-first into another one.

Things get stranger late at night at Anime Central 2011.

Kaitlin and Michael met in 2006 through their writing.  Around the same time, they began discussing what would become the Athele Series.  They married in 2009, and taught English in South Korea for a year before pursuing publication.

  4. Hi Kaitlin,

A long overdue note of thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on the holiday post last November. I really appreciate your readership and apologize for the lateness of this response—I’m still trying to get caught up on a backlog of blog correspondence. As a huge Patrick Stewart fan (I had the pleasure of seeing him perform Prospero on stage years ago), I think I’ve found a kindred spirit here. And I admire your wit.

    Take care, and thanks again—

What a cool couple you make. Fantastic blog here. I tried underwater D&D once but the books got all wet and the dice wouldn’t roll properly, except the 4 sided one, oddly that rolled really well underwater! I was going to try video games while scuba diving but I couldn’t get an extension cord long enough… 8)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Glad I found you guys, I will be returning.

I hope so too – if only so we get mini goat baby pictures! Because… dude, I can’t think of much cuter. Maybe if there were kittens involved as well? Can you do that? On second thought, it would probably result in the end of the world by cuteness, so never mind…
