I’m back! Yay! Sorry about the extended absence, but we’ve been on vacation and stuff. I like my idea for the picture this week but we’ll see how the story comes off, eh?
As a note, if you’ve got a moment, please consider checking out the spin-off which my husband does called ‘Tidbit Tuesday”. While I do based off prompts from the lovely madison, he uses a Random Number Generator and a list of words. The twist for him is that all of the flash fiction he writes for Tidbit Tuesday is based off of the books in The Athele Series, coming out in spring/summer of 2013. If you like it, considering following our twitter or Facebook!
Thanks, and enjoy the story!

What a silent world it was without the siren call. Oh certainly, it was there, but not yet realized, not yet bloomed. She would force it into springing, thrusting growth. She would show them the light, twist their hearts in their chests and pry them open with barely a breath. They would accuse her of chaos, they would accuse her of destruction. They would pin death and depression, even war on her.
No matter. They would praise her. They would beg for her assistance. They would love her.
Sea foam gathered at the shore as Aphrodite stepped from her shell.

Hope you had a great vacations and that Doug’s having one, too. I’m just back (more or less) and totally understand. Good job with this, despite vacation.
Hi…Interesting take on the prompt. Love how you connected Aphrodite and her shell at the end. Tks for visiting mine.
very nice, Aphrodite coming out of the sea conjures such a vision… to quote Tolkien… “All shall love me and despair”….
Aphrodite is born again! She was right. Chaos ensued.
Very nice. I’m glad someone wrote about her. I did think Aphrodite/Venus to be a good choice!

Nice take on the prompt.
Really lovely piece, Kaitlin. What havoc will be wreaked . . .

Dear Kaitlin,
Welcome back. I’m on vacation now and fully understand the time can disappear.
Loved your story and your depiction of the powerful will of Aphrodite. I’m getting my mythological education today. Thanks.
Aloha,
Doug

Nice job to weave in a bit of myth and legend there Kaitlin, I enjoyed it especially as it reminded me of three months spent on Cyprus very close to Aphrodite’s rock.
